From Biology to Biologics: Exploring Protein-Based Therapeutic Production & Purification
How can we apply our understanding of the “central dogma” of molecular biology to developing a commercially available drug like Humira or Keytruda?

Learn about the techniques used to produce and purify biologics (therapeutic proteins made from living organisms) involved in treating and preventing cancer, arthritis, pneumonia, and diabetes.

Engage students with a deeper dive into medical conditions that they may have a personal connection to or medications they’ve likely seen advertised, and ignite their interest in R&D and biomanufacturing careers.

The first 30 registrants based in the USA will receive one protein purification student workstation so they can perform the lab during the workshop. No equipment is needed - just easily accessible household items! If you are among the first 30 to sign up, you'll receive a form about a week before the event to input your shipping information.

Sherry Annee is a Biotechnology instructor at Brebeuf Jesuit in Indianapolis. She has served as president of NABT (National Association of Biology Teachers) and HASTI (Hoosier Association of Science Teachers, Inc.), served on several advisory boards, field-tested numerous curricula, consulted on the creation of lessons/curriculum by national organizations, and frequently present at state and national conferences as an HHMI and Bio-Rad Explorer Fellow.

Note: No continuing education credits or certificates are being offered for attending this event. Attendees will receive an email after the event that they may use as proof of attendance.

Webinar recording will be emailed to all registrants.
