From 'Shroom to Zoom: Hands-On Lab Experience Connecting Student Bioprospecting, Kinetics, Ecology, and Engineering
Students often struggle with understanding kinetics, enzymes, and their connections to real-world applications. Colorimetric experiments with enzymes from mushrooms let them explore these topics in one system!

In this live webinar developed with educators for educators we'll experience how cellulosic fuels offer a carbon neutral way of producing fuels, and learn how to use knowledge of ecological niches to find fungi best suited for biofuel production.

The first 30 registrants based in the USA will receive materials needed to perform the Biofuel Enzyme Kinetics kits labs at home or school for free. No equipment is needed - just easily accessible household items! Additional registrants, and registrants based in other countries, are encouraged to attend will benefit from the discussions and observing the experiment.

This webinar will be presented by Damon Tighe, a former researcher at the Joint Genome Institute and high school teacher. He now supports educators bringing contemporary biology techniques into their classroom through Bio-Rad's Explorer program.

Note: No continuing education credits or certificates are being offered for attending this event. Attendees will receive an email after the event that they may use as proof of attendance.
