Hands-On Gene Regulation & Genetic Engineering with the pGLO Bacterial Transformation Kit
Learn how to genetically modify bacteria by adding a fluorescent jellyfish gene and how to switch on expression of the gene using inducible operons!

In this live hands-on webinar developed with educators for educators, attendees learn about DNA structure, plasmids, and ways genes can be transferred and regulated in the wild and in the lab. The talk will also make connections to key classroom concepts and highlight free resources.

The first 30 registrants based in the USA will receive one student workstation from the pGLO Bacterial Transformation kit so they can perform the lab during the workshop. No equipment is needed - just easily accessible household items! If you are among the first 30 to sign up, you'll receive a form about a week before the event to input your shipping information.

This webinar will be presented by Bio-Rad Fellow Ray Cinti, a Biology instructor, at South Burlington High School. Ray has received two NSTA teaching awards in Biotechnology and Agricultural Science in 2018 and 2019, has authored 300 YouTube instructional videos, and is currently a doctoral candidate in Plant and Soil Science at the University of Vermont.

Note: No continuing education credits or certificates are being offered for attending this event. Attendees will receive an email after the event that they may use as proof of attendance.

This webinar will be recorded and emailed to all registrants.
