CRISPR Hands-On Lab Experience with the Out of the Blue CRISPR Kit
CRISPR’s most relevant and revolutionary uses require more than just knockouts! Now your students can do real CRISPR-Cas9 chromosomal gene editing in your classroom!

In this live hands-on webinar developed with educators for educators, attendees will use CRISPR-Cas9 to edit an E. coli chromosomal gene. We'll talk about controls, predicted results, the differences between a gene knockout and a “cut-and-repair,” and how to troubleshoot any unexpected results.

The first 30 registrants based in the USA will receive one student workstation from the Out of the Blue CRISPR kit so they can perform the lab during the workshop. No equipment is needed - just easily accessible household items! If you are among the first 30 to sign up, you'll receive a form about a week before the event to input your shipping information.

We recommend that participants have a basic understanding of bacterial transformation before attending this webinar. To learn more about bacterial transformation, please register for our August 3 Hands-On Gene Regulation and Genetic Engineering webinar at www.bio-rad.com/explorerevents

This webinar will be presented by Bio-Rad Fellow Ray Cinti, a Biology instructor, at South Burlington High School. Ray has received two NSTA teaching awards in Biotechnology and Agricultural Science in 2018 and 2019, has authored 300 YouTube instructional videos, and is currently a doctoral candidate in Plant and Soil Science at the University of Vermont.

Note: No continuing education credits or certificates are being offered for attending this event. Attendees will receive an email after the event that they may use as proof of attendance.

This webinar will be recorded and emailed to all registrants.
